It has been reported that Black Pearl is a breed of short-eared Tibetan dog, also considered the most valuable dog breed in the world today. Each puppy is estimated to be sold for up to $160,000, with the recent sale of a similar dog reaching over $1.6 million at a trade show in Thach That, the capital of Ha Bac province, China.
Guo Qingcai, a 53-year-old man and owner of Black Pearl, is also the proprietor of a pet store specializing in various animals. He takes great pride in Black Pearl's achievements, stating, "Black Pearl was a gift from a friend three years ago. We treat it like a family member, always giving it the best."
Black Pearl gave birth to 22 puppies, unfortunately losing 5 shortly afterward. Currently, 17 healthy and robust puppies remain, receiving careful and meticulous care from Guo Qingcai and his wife. They take turns feeding the puppies with great attention to detail.
Su Zhanqiang, a lecturer at Tan Cuong Agricultural University, shared, "This is unusual for a short-eared Tibetan dog to have so many puppies. Normally, this breed can give birth to a maximum of about 4 to 5 puppies per litter, with 7 or 8 being extremely rare. This may be the rarest case."
It is worth noting that another dog named Tia in Manea, Cambridgeshire, England, previously gave birth to 24 puppies. Tia is a crossbreed between a Bun dog and a short-eared Tibetan dog.
